Find out the language windows was installed

To identify the installation language of the Operating System:

1. Start Regedit.
2. Navigate to the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\Language” key and take a note of the code next to the “InstallLanguage”. (DOS Command prompt: “reg query “HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\Language” /v Installlanguage”).

3. Compare the number highlighted in the image previous, to the “Locale ID Assigned by Microsoft” in the following table. (The table is a subset of the list published by Microsoft.)
